Talk: Down the Canal

Talk by Barry and Gill Goodman on behalf of the Friends of the British Schools Museum.

Join us for a fascinating look at Britain's canals in stories, original songs, and pictures.

From bouncing frogs and beaded dragonflies, to goldfish and Lilly-pads galore, join us for fabulous kids crafts on all things "Pond Life" this May Half-Term and celebrate Spring. 

Sessions 10am-12 midday

£7.50 per participating child (accompanying adults and any younger siblings are FREE). 

From classics like Walter Crane's Beauty and the Beast to now unknown treasures, see the wonderful books of HM Queen Elizabeth, wife of George VI and mother to Elizabeth II, known to a generation as the Queen Mother. 

We are grateful to the Bowes-Lyon family for loaning this unique collection to the British Schools Museum from the Queen's childhood years at St Pauls Walden Bury, near Hitchin.

Open during normal Museum hours Fri-Sun, 10am - 4pm. FREE

Free playgroup for all SEND children aged 0-5, every Monday 1-2.30pm. 

Join us for  warm welcoming atmosphere, fun toys and activities, and a chance to talk to other families and the Hertfordshire Family Centre for any advice or contacts you might need. 

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
